District Project Scholarship Program
Each year the Ministry of Education allots our school district a number of scholarships worth $1250.00, based on the number of students enrolled in Grade 12. Winners receive a Scholarship voucher, which may be used to attend a college or other post secondary school. In School District 22, candidates entering the District Scholarships must plan and complete a project to demonstrate a particular skill or interest outside of the regular school curriculum.

Check in with Mr. Huggins if you have any questions.  We will have our meeting on Thursday at 11:25 in the Theatre to answer questions. The deadline for applications is November 26, 2021.

Please read the following important update about Graduation.

We are planning for Grad to be celebrated at the Kal Tire Place and is booked for 4pm Thursday, June 16th, 2022.   We collect the $120 grad fees to pay for gowns, facility rental, decorating, and other grad expenses.  In order to keep fees down, we hold fundraisers and ask that all grads participate.  This year our student grad committee and our parent Super Grad committee will be coordinating our fundraising events. The Prom and Super Grad will be held at Seaton the evening of Saturday, June 18th.

Seaton Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for June 25th. No time is set yet.

Seaton SuperGrad will depend on the current BC Health Guidelines.

Our Grads are looking for your support with their fundraising efforts. They are selling Domino’s Gift Cards. $20 for a large 3 topping pizza and then 25% off future orders. Gift Cards are available in the office until April 15th or they are all sold. Only 300 are available.

We also have made some changes to help you commemorate this important event. The document on the grad website have been updated.

  • You will be allowed to take pictures or video of your own graduate walking across the stage. However, no flash will be permitted. You can also livestream that moment but you will need to make sure that your speaker is on mute so not to disturb the ceremony.
  • Applause or cheering – When you hear the words “Congratulations, …the name of your graduate, Jenna Carter”, the Graduate will walk off the stage and you can give a short applause and cheer. You will then join your graduate as you exit the theater. Please be aware that the next graduate needs it quiet so they can walk across the stage and we can hear their introduction.

Grad Gown pick up and Textbook and Library Book Drop Off Friday June 12 8:30-10:00, 1:30 – 3:00. Each grad has a gown at the school. If this time does not work, they can be picked up next week as well between 8:45 and 2:30.

W.L. Seaton’s Grad Committee is made of Seaton Staff and the student Grad Committee and is responsible for the graduation ceremony. This year our Grad will be celebrated at Seaton and will have a staggered start beginning at 2:00pm until approximately 4:00pm Thursday, June 18th, 2020.  We will be doing it by Alpha and have arrival times sent out by June 11. We collect grad fees to pay for gowns, facility rental, decorating, and other grad expenses.  In order to keep fees down, we hold fundraisers and ask that all grads participate.  This year our student grad committee and our parent Super Grad committee will be coordinating our fundraising events. Super Grad Information

The Super Grad is June 22nd at 6pm – 3am at Seaton. There will be a banquet for grads and their guests, a prom dance followed by the Super Grad celebrations. See the link to the Seaton grad parent mtg April 2019 above for more detailed info.

Grad Photo Information

All grads need to book an appointment as this photo is used for the composite that is displayed in the school and a copy is given to each grad. There is no sitting fee and purchasing packages is optional. Remember that on the mountainwest.ca website you will find the school under W.L. Seaton.

Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections for 2019 Graduates

Student Post-Secondary Institution (PSI) Selections – July 12

 

Grade 12 students are encouraged to visit the StudentTranscripts Service website before July 12, 2019 to make their PSI selections. Admission offers may be delayed or denied if students do not authorize the release of their transcript data.

 

For Students: StudentTranscripts Service

 

Students can access the StudentTranscripts Service at: www.studenttranscripts.gov.bc.ca/. To get started, they must first create a Basic BCeID account to access their transcript information.

 

Help videos, including “Registering for a BCeID and Accessing the StudentTranscripts Service,” are available on the website. For other help documentation, visit https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/education-training/k-12/support/transcripts-and-certificates/studenttranscripts-services-help

 

Students need only complete their PSI selections once in the current school year. Students may add to their selections at any time up to July 12, 2019. Students may make up to 25 selections free of charge within six months after completing their last course. After six months, students will be charged $10 per transcript, payable on the StudentTranscripts Service.

 

To select their PSIs, students must login to the StudentTranscripts Dashboard and under Transcripts & Certificates, select Send/Order Your Transcript. Students locate their desired PSIs from the list and select (dependent on the PSI’s current process) the option to “Send interim and final marks when they are available” or “Send final marks when they are available.”

Grade 12 students should review the three how-to videos before they make their PSI selections for this school year. Videos include:
