Hello Fulton Families:
We are excited to welcome you and your child back to Clarence Fulton Secondary to begin what we hope
will be a memorable and successful learning journey. Fulton is a well-rounded school that offers a
variety of opportunities for students. We encourage all students to get involved in some form of
extracurricular activity whether it be leadership, book club, math team, student voice, or sports. These are
fun, meaningful activities that can teach students a lot, introduce them to good friends, and give them
ideas about what they can do for their future. It builds self-esteem and research states that it improves
academic performance. Although we are in the midst of a pandemic, our sports and clubs are continuing.

We encourage your child to participate fully at Fulton and we also encourage you, the parents, to become
involved. Our Parent Advisory Council (PAC) needs you! This is an opportunity for you to become
familiar with what is happening at Fulton and to have a voice. The School Act gives parents the right,
through Parent Advisory Councils (PACs), to provide feedback in their school. PAC is the officially
recognized collective voice of parents of their school. A PAC, through its elected officers, may advise the
school board, the principal, and staff of the school respecting any matter relating to the education of the
students and the school.

One of the purposes of PAC is to provide financial support to Fulton through the distribution of gaming
funds. We do NOT fundraise! These gaming funds have helped support many of our extracurricular
activities in drama, PE, computers, and math. It has supported the costs of some overnight field trips and
contributed to both graduation and our awards night. Without PAC we would not have access to these
gaming funds and our school would be at a financial disadvantage. Unfortunately, this year, many of
our executive have moved on as their children have graduated or they are moving towns and their
kids will no longer be attending school here. We cannot run PAC without a functioning executive,
so your support is needed now more than ever. Again, this is not a big commitment so I do hope
you can participate in our 6 PAC meetings and maybe even join our executive so that we can
continue to provide a venue for parents to interact with our school community and also continue
getting financial support.

PAC is not a big commitment. We meet 6 times a year on the last Tuesday of the month. Your support is
needed and we hope that you will come to our first meeting on September 28th at 6:30 pm – PAC Zoom
Meeting. If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to call me at Fulton or contact our
PAC president, Max Peterson at fultonpac AT
