School Opening Delay until Jan. 10

Hello families,

I would like to take this time to wish you a Happy New Year.  I know we are all entering 2022 with some uncertainty and I want you to know we will keep you updated as much as possible.  There is a letter coming from our district office today with most commonly asked questions and answers which will hopefully help you with any questions/concerns you may have at this time.

School opening has been delayed until January 10th.  The delay, of the start of school, will allow the province to better assess the impacts of Omicron – the latest COVID variant. It will also allow district and school staff to prepare to implement further health and safety measures and ensure the continuation of learning.  Children of health care workers, essential services, and those requiring inclusion and student support services may attend school beginning January 4th.  If you are planning on sending your child to school next week, it would be appreciated if you could email me at lseed@sd22.bc.ca to let me know.  Please be aware that no formal learning will be taking place the week of January 4th.

Please check our school district 22 website for current information as well and we will send out further information on our health and safety measures once we have a plan in place.

Sincerely,
Lynn Seed
