At the December 20, 2017 School District 22 Board of Education Public Meeting, board trustees and secondary principals presented the Governor General Awards to five students for their outstanding scholastic achievements. The award is given to the student graduating with the highest average from their high school.
The 2017 recipients were Ava Cornell (Vernon Secondary), David Kane (Fulton Secondary), Skyler Summerfelt (Charles Bloom Secondary), Christopher Dlouhy (Kalamalka Secondary), and Ellen Van Buren (WL Seaton Secondary).
